If you would like to get trained as a mentor, we are hosting a mentor training at Northwood Middle on Thursday, Oct. 17th at 12pm. Please sign up for this training at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mentor-greenville-training-northwood-middle-on-oct-17-tickets-75053863125.
Mentoring Overview - Come eat lunch with our students once per week for 30 minutes. Mentors are required to complete an application, attend a 1 hour training, apply for district Level 2 volunteer status (includes a background check) and commit 30 minutes per week to eating lunch with a student. Once this process has been completed, we set the mentor up with one of our students. We will introduce them to Northwood, take them on a tour and get them acquainted with the student. The mentor and student will eat lunch together once per week. Our students love this opportunity to spend time and talk with an adult who is not their parent or teacher. We have seen some great relationships and student success come out of these mentorships! Once the initial training and application is completed, the only commitment is 30 minutes one day per week!
If you or anyone you know would like more information on mentoring with Northwood and Mentor Upstate, please visit Mentor Upstate’s website – www.mentorupstate.org. Please have any interested individuals reach out Elizabeth Reed, School Counselor, at firstname.lastname@example.org (864) 355-7020
We understand how busy families and students are and we have simplified out PTA efforts. We have gone back to the basics in asking for sponsors and monetary donations from our families to help fund our PTA non-profit. With this said, we will not have any fundraising activities to sell anything this upcoming school year, and we thank you in advance for considering to make a monehttps://nwmstaylors.memberhub.store/tary donation instead.
